The Eagle Has Crashed Episode 1: Prologue

by Country Thinker | February 5th, 2012

This is my first effort at an audio podcast, and it is an idea that I got from author Scott Sigler. Reportedly he began reading his novels into a microphone while stuffed between jackets in a hallway closet to muffle outside noise interference. I decided to give the idea a try, although I took a pass on recording in a closet.

This isn’t intended to be a high tech production (or a perfect one, for that matter), and I ‘m hoping it comes off a bit nostalgic; think of it as Sunday story time like the radio days of old. I’m also hoping this will provide a way for vision-impaired people to gain access to the story, and perhaps tech-savvy folks with iPhones and such can listen while traveling or stuck in traffic!

I do feel obliged to pass on one disclaimer, which is that The Eagle Has Crashed is an “R-rated” book with profanity, descriptions of violence, and some mild sexual conent. Even though this episode doesn’t contain any, I just want to advise listeners beforehand, so you don’t get started, and then get taken by surprise and offended later.

With all that thrown out on the table, let’s get to the reading, and if you like what you hear well enough to want to but a copy, all the purchasing information can be found here.

Ted, I’m looking forward to these Sunday pod-casts. The prologue certainly peaked my interest.

Jim, you were an inspiration for me to get off my duff and start recording these things! I hope you enjoy, and I can give your eyes a bit of rest while letting your formidable mind continue to work.
