At the End of the Tunnel—January 20, 2012

by Country Thinker | January 20th, 2012

This feature is intended to provide a little levity at the end of the work week.

From blogging colleague Silverfiddle at Western Hero, regarding the dreadful negative impacts of “green energy” production on the environment and the world’s poor:

All of this deforestation, destruction and theft of poor people’s land is brought to you by your progressive federal government teamed with like-minded global progressives.  With progress like this, who needs enemies?

In Schools for Misrule, Walter Olson paraphrases Jean-Baptiste Colbert:

[T]he art of public finance lies in obtaining from the goose the most feathers with the least squawking.

Also from Schools for Misrule, Olson quotes the “Yale Law School anthem,” in which students lamented the lack of practical legal education in favor of public policy philosophical brainwashing. It is to the tune of “Wonderful World” (aka: “Don’t Know Much About History,”) with this video to get you up to speed if you don’t know the tune:

Don’t know much about Property,

Don’t know much about Bankruptcy,

Don’t know much about Secured Transactions,

Don’t know how to file legal actions,

But I do know Philosophy,

And I know that with my Yale degree,

What a wonderful world this could be.

Have a nice weekend if you so choose!

Thanks for the mention! It really is a modern-day progressive manifest destiny. Just imagine if Bush-Cheney had contracted out Halliburton to carry out this exact biofuels agenda…
